Effective Date: October 15, 2026
Wexlin ("we", "us") builds and hosts websites for small businesses at wexlin.dev, in the Wexlin Studio, and on the sites we host for our clients (yourbusiness.wexlin.dev or your own domain). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: support@wexlin.dev.
Your account: your name, email address, business name, and your password (stored only as a one-way hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
What you give us to build your site: your business description, the answers you give in the launch check, notes for our team, your logo, photos and other files you upload, and the drafts and versions of your site.
Reservations: before launch, the reservation form collects your business name, a description of what you do, your email address and, if you have one, your current website.
Messages: anything you send our team in the Studio.
Billing: your plan and payment history. Card details are entered with our payment processor and never reach our servers.
Technical data: IP addresses and basic request details, used to keep the service secure (for example, to limit repeated sign-in attempts), and a record of when you agreed to our terms.
Visits to sites we host: we count page views, the page visited and where the visit came from, without cookies, so site owners can see how their site is doing.
To build, finish, host and support your website; to run your account and billing; to send you emails about your account and your site (verification, your draft, your site going live); to keep the service secure; and, unless you switch them off, an occasional tip or check-in about your site. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Your drafts and edits are written by AI models from Anthropic. When you ask for a draft or a change, the relevant text you gave us and your site's code are sent to the AI provider to produce it. A person on our team reviews every site before it goes live.
We share data only with the services that run Wexlin, and only what each one needs: our server host in the United States; Anthropic for AI; Resend for email; our payment processor (Paddle, and Stripe as a backup); Google, if you choose Google sign-in; and Netlify, which hosts the reservation page before launch.
Our servers are in the United States. Account data is kept while your account exists, including after you cancel, so you can come back. Encrypted backups are kept for about two weeks. If you delete your account, your account and sites are removed, and they leave our backups as those expire.
From your Studio you can download your site, change your details, switch off tips and request emails, and delete your account. Email us for a free copy of all the data we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. Every tip email has an unsubscribe link.
When someone sends a booking or message through a site we host, it goes to that site's owner, through their Requests inbox and email. The site owner decides what happens with it; we store it so they can see it, and we don't use it for anything else.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The Studio uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in, and visits to hosted sites are counted without cookies.
Wexlin is a service for businesses and isn't meant for children under 16.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email.
